We offer two treatments: a 20-minutes treatment , and a 45-minutes treatment.

Both treatments are performed on heated marble beds, and include a traditional full-body scrub using natural olive oil soap.

It is not possible to place an order without choosing a treatment.

In view of the way reservations work at Ghattas Bathhouse, and since we privately reserve the whole bathhouse for each reservation, each guest is asked to choose a treatment.

Reservations for one guest can be made based on same day availability.

In view of the way reservations work at Ghattas Bathhouse, and since we privately reserve the whole bathhouse for each reservation, a minimum of 2 guests are required to make a reservation in advance.

If you wish to make a reservation for one guest, you are welcome to contact us and ask to include your name on a waiting list for the desired day. We will be sure to update you if there is availability on the requested day. We are likely to contact you a day before the desired reservation day, or even on the same day. Therefore, this option is suitable for guests who are already in Akko (Acre), and those who can arrive at the hammam on a fairly short notice.

- Entry to the hammam is for persons 18 years of age and older. Any guests under 18 years of age require adult supervision and consent to receive treatments.

- Children up to the age of 16 are allowed to enter the Jacuzzi, the dry sauna and the wet sauna only when accompanied by an adult.

In Old Acre there are a number of regulated parking areas. Some are free and some are paid.

The following are the parking lots and parking options:

Lighthouse parking lot The Lighthouse parking lot is a free of charge (updated: October 2020), and is the closest to Ghattas Bathhouse.

Therefore, it is to be expected that the parking lot will be fully occupied from Thursdays afternoon until Saturdays evening every weekend, as well as on holidays of all religions, and on days when special events are held in Acre.

Old Acre parking lot Old Acre is a paid parking lot. The cost is 20 NIS per car, for a full parking day (updated: October 2020). You can also pay the parking fee with the Pango app.

The parking lot is located about 800 meters from the hammam (about 10 minutes walk). To navigate to the Old Acre parking lot, choose Waze or Google Maps

Eucalyptus parking lot The eucalyptus is a paid park lot (blue-and-white parking fees apply).

Parking along the western promenade (Ha'hagana Street) You can park along the western promenade (blue-and-white parking fees apply). Parking distance from Ghattas Bathhouse depends on the actual parking location (between 12 and 20 minutes walk).

By default and except in special circumstances, treatments are performed by a male and a female massage therapist for each reservation. You can request two male or two female massage therapists for your reservation (48 hours in advance), and we will do our best to make the arrangement when possible.

Entry for pregnant women is prohibited, and is not recommended for those who are in the process of conceiving.

The hammam has four heated marble beds for treatments. Two beds on the upper level, and two beds on the lower level. Unlike spas, there is no division into treatment rooms in the hammam. The entire hammam is reserved for guests of each reservation solely and privately.

Couples treatments are usually performed on the marble beds on the upper level. The treatments are performed for the couple at the same time.

Separation can be performed during treatments. One treatment is performed on the upper level by a female massage therapist (for the wife), and the other treatment is performed on the lower level by a male massage therapist (for the husband).

The massage therapists leave the hammam at the end of the treatments, in order to allow you to enjoy the hammam and the facilities in privacy (until the end of the time allocated for your reservation).

The majority of reservations we get at Hammam Ghattas are for couples, but it is definitely possible to make reservations for groups, from 3 to 20 guests.

Take for example a reservation for a couple/two guests.

Arrival - It is recommended to arrive about 15 minutes before your reservation time. - Upon entering the lobby you will be welcomed by the reception staff, asked to have a seat, and offered cold water and Tamarind juice. - Since the cellular reception in the Old City is limited, we will be happy to give you the WiFi password. - You will be presented with a health declaration form to fill out, and depending on your answers, you may be asked additional questions for the purpose of adapting your treatment and stay in the hammam to your health condition.

Entry to the hammam and preparation for treatment - At this stage you will be invited to enter the hammam, and you will be asked to go to the changing room to change clothes (to your swimwear/swimsuit). - In the changing room you will also find personal towels. The towels should be left in the changing room to be used after you shower, at the end of your stay. - When you exit the changing room, the massage therapists will be waiting for you, and will ask you to sit next to the sinks on the lower level, in order to wash your body with water splashes from traditional bathing bowls. - You will then be asked to enter the wet sauna for about five minutes. - The wet sauna steam fills the skin pores with moist heat and expands them, thus greatly helping to cleanse the skin and remove dead skin cells during the scrub and massage.

The treatment - When you leave the wet sauna, you will be asked to go up to the upper level to start the treatment. - The massage therapists will help you to lie on the warm marble beds comfortably, and place personal cloth sheets on the marble bed and pillows under your neck and knees, to make it comfortable for your on the marble bed. The first part of the treatment begins when you are lying on your stomach. - At this stage, the treatment begins, during which your body will be covered in clouds of natural olive-oil soap foam, using a traditional lathering technique, followed by a skin scrub with a natural loofah, and a massage (according to your chosen treatment). During the treatment, the foam clouds are washed with splashes of hot and cold water. - In the second part of the treatment you will be asked to "turn over" and lie on your back. The treatment continues similar to the first part, with foaming, scrubbing and massage, and ends with a massage to the neck and scalp.

The hammam and facilities At the end of the treatment, the massage therapists will assist you in sitting on the treatment bed for a minute, then get off it safely, and will accompany you to the Jacuzzi. - After entering the Jacuzzi you will be served cold water and Tamarind juice for refreshment, and will also be reminded to enjoy the dry sauna and the hot marble slab, located in the center of the lower level. For your convenience, the massage therapists will also spread your personal cloth sheets on the hot slab. When you reach the stage where you want to enjoy the slab, the sheets will already be warm and pleasant to the touch. - While you enjoy the Jacuzzi, the massage therapists will leave the compound, and the entire hammam will continue to be yours privately until the end of your reservation (the two hours).

End of stay in the hammam - Towards the end of the reservation, you can enter the changing room to take a shower and change clothes. - When you leave the changing room, remember to check the compartments so as not to forget clothes and personal belongings. When you return to the lobby, a seating area with refreshments that includes fruit and cookies awaits you, and we will offer you hot and cold drinks.

Cancellations or changes via SMS message will not be accepted.
